The Chevron El Segundo Refinery has been a proud member of the community since 1911. El Segundo earned its name (“the second” in Spanish) by becoming the site of the second Standard Oil refinery on the West Coast when Standard Oil of California purchased 840 acres of farmland.
Chevron has supported Economic Development in El Segundo with grants totaling over $1.3M in the past decade.
